David's second career as a Choral conductor

David is well known in the North East as a choral trainer and conductor. Since becoming conductor of Bishopwearmouth Choral Society in Sunderland in 1992, he has given a huge number of performances with them and with  Hexham Abbey Festival Chorus together with very finest orchestras, and soloists from all over the world.He has just come to the end of a very happy partnership with Ryton Choral Society with whom he gave his final and 50th concert in December.

 

 Repertoire includes all the major choral works and Bishopwearmouth gives three concerts per season: Hexham gives one concert per year as part of the Hexham Abbey Festival in September.


Artists who have appeared with these choirs include Graeme Danby, Vanessa Williamson, Mhairi Lawson, Ian Partridge, Alison Pearce, Anne Marie Owens,  Philip Salmon,  Martyn Hill,  Matthew Brook, Jennifer Smith,  Jon Mitchinson Sally Harrison, Robin Alexander Baker, Claire Rutter, Deborah Humble Laurie Ashworth, Stephen Gadd  and many more.
